Dont know how free turning a manual human mill is as ive never used one. Have used an emill just didnt find could run the dog at full as you can on a slatmill but can get them going at a decent pace just like any mill keep your eye on the dogs and keep it fun. Can pick them up pretty cheap on gumtree paid 150 for mine :)

Cant be much help Rip, other than to say would a human one be long enough for a dog?

I've an electric dog one and they are much longer than any human one i've seen.

Mind you i never use it for running a dog flat out anyway, just walking or trotting, depending upon the dog and the reason why it needed to use the mill

not having a dig pal, but treadmills arent the best, the dog will look the part but it wont run well, treadmills just work the muscles forward, therefor when you let the dog run something e.g a rabbit, it wont be able to cope with the turning and up and down notion with the ground. and you will notice that the dog will be runnig straight as the rabbit turns. this can cause damage to the legs muscles etc. your best bet is to invest a bit of time into road walking 5 miles a day wont harm you or the dog, after 4 weeks your dog will be conditioned to its peak.

Not when they are used in conjunction with road work/general exercise FTBBTH. Treadmills should not be used as the only form of exercise but as an additional means of conditioning, for anything from recovery from injury to fitness

You can get electric mills for us but with the longer belt...mates have got em and they then just board the sides up...seem to work a treat at a fraction of the cost of specially designed dog mills..atb stabba
