Sprocker's

Hi all,

 

My knowledge in the Gundog world is pretty limited, what is the general opinnion of the Sprocker Spaniel and they working ability?

There's a sprocker on the shoot I beat on and he's awesome, fearless in cover and steady as a rock. Not seen a bad one to be fair....back in the day springers and cockers came out the same litter - if it was small it was a cocker and vice versa. To be honest as long as the parents have a proven working background you won't go far wrong. Only my opinion though others might disagree

been out with one bushing and f**k me they can lift game , never missed one thing in the brambles ,id recomended a part trained one as they do take time Atb

Thanks for the replies so far, how easy is to get into beating on a shoot and how would you recomend i approahed someone about it

ask about mate , get the word about that your intrested in the selected fieldsport , dont any of your friends go beating or what have you ? probz the best way to go about it

No mate, most the lads i know are into terriers or ferreting

no worries mate it's a bit far for you to come and beat here LOL you could try a post in the keepers section though there might be a keeper near there see it
