Strong Stuff 2,171
Has anyone ever had cause to make a formal complaint about an individual police officer? How did it go? Do they all stick together and lie for each other? Briefly, had an incident at work on the door tonight, turned a group of around 20 boisterous blokes away, one got aggressive trying to grab my SIA badge, he was easy enough to deal with, another came over trying to be all sinister and clever telling me how my actions would have serious repercussions and this wasn't over etc, and that they were all "bobbies" and would make my life difficult. After they left I was told that the one with the clever mouth is a Detective Surperintendent, I just looked on line and am going to ring on Monday morning and register a complaint, but don't expect much will happen, I wouldn't bother normally but he was a big time cock and I hate it when someone tries to intimidate me. Fact is, no matter who they were there was 20 of them and the pub was already full.
scalesntails 118
Did you have any witnesses? If they you make a complaint they are going to make your life hell. But at the same time you need to make a complaint to cover your own arse. I once made a police officer look like an arse in court and they made my life hell for nearly a year. Just hope they forget about it when they sober up.
Cold Ethyl 63
Yeah i complained and kicked up hell at new year when a lady officer roared at my kids and my nephews cos in her opinion their dvd was too loud i went f*****g bonkers she refused to giver her badge number etc and i read it off her shoulder anyways. She threatened to arrest me and i pointed out what your gonna arrest me for making a complaint in a room full of witnesses Really?.Havent seen her since tbh yes that night we were singing and dancing after the bells but its new year ffs and if only they knew that earlier a guy was ejected and put on his arse lol none of that was a concern. No one treats my kids like that i do the shouting in this place with them its my job to deal with my kids and any others i am looking after not hers i was livid that night i dont mind someone telling them off if for good reason etc but to stomp in shouting wasnt a good idea for her in my book anyways. scothunter 12,609
similar thing happened a few year ago to me aaron, working the door and had thrown this idiot out for pissing in a pint glass at the bar.well when he got launched out the door,a cpl of lads stepped forward obviously this was his mate.and said "this is the bgest mistake you have made in your life"and reached insde his jacket,i booted him square in the balls and smack in the back of the head as he bent over.well turned out what he was reaching for was his warrant card.bearing in mind these c**ts were off duty and pissed.uniformed cops came and the c**t i hit gave them this speel and i was told to wait there while they spoke to the cops in thier patrol car.i waited for over 40mins,before deciding well if im getting lifted id rather it be here and now and not an hours time when im all tucked up in bed.so went over to thier car chapped on the window and was like whats happening,am i getting huckled here or what.was told no further action will be taken and i could go. obviously they were in the wrong and shouldnt be flashing warrant cards in the state they were in,and the cops on duty prob told them this.i was gonna make an official complaint but tbh id drop it.you cant beat these c**ts,they will only have it in for you if a complaint is made against a fellow officer. mackem 27,561
I know a guy who was arrested by two cops, basically they tried to fit him up but he wasnt as stupid as they were anyway,he said their faces when his dictaphone(which he had switched on during the arrest )was played in court was a picture, they hadnt known about his recording beforehand They are now ex-policemen and that they were all "bobbies" and would make my life difficult. Make a complaint against him,at least then its on record

gnasher16 30,470
Id be surprised if they really were all ol bill....surely they are not naive enough to think 20 loud fellas are going to stroll into a pub/club with no hassle. As for the one in question....if you know his name forget complaints procedures just have a word with the people who pay his wages, which if up theres like any other big city you wont have to go through any police ! You have to ask yourself, would you have given it a second thought if they were normal everyday folk,no......maybe your thinking too much cos a few of them are plod ! PlasticJock 539
I've had dramas with bellend coppers on the doors before, as soon as you refuse them or have to get them out because they're making an arse of himself, then the threats start. I also know someone whose fiancée ran away with a copper and he told him he'd ''get him in shit'' if he did anything to him. That's why I can't stand the police, absolutely spineless. In your situation I would gather as much evidence as I could (CCTV, witness statements etc), and instead of making a formal complaint, bypass the detective super and write to his superiors outlining your concerns. Also add if anything else happens you will have no choice but to refer the matter to the IPCC. Hope this helps, Dan. Ps. Don't let them in again.

I wouldn't have given it a second thought, have heard all threats etc many times, but it's the arrogance of this one, and his sad attempt at trying to appear sinister that's annoyed me, I will report it to get it on record. No I don't think all the group were bizzies, I think the one with the mouth was showing off to those that weren't. I was on my own, I have got a witness but doubt he'd want to get involved as he was just out for a drink and was unlucky enough to be standing next to me at the time. I work that door on my own, always have done.
Stanleigh 135
Forget about it would be my advice , I was a doorman for 25 years and you make enough enemies without going looking for them , bizzies can act like tits when they are drunk just like any one else , at least give it until monday see if your still as angry about , ( if he hadn,t been a bizzy ) was just an everyday part of the job . BORDERSCOT 3,816
If you do complain just beware that you may be making a rod for your own back mate. I wouldn't trust them period. Yeah they'll close rank and it'll end up being your problem. Here's a scenario which took place in my own town a few months back. Woman gets caught shoplifting in Morrisons. Store detective and manager apprehend her. Police are called. Police arrive. Policeman discovers that the shoplifter is his wife. Policeman leaves store with his wife. No charges. I know someone who works there and they told me that the store detective had been watching her on two or three occasions. This same person told me that it is always company policy to prosecute shoplifters. Bit of a local outcry - it hit the national papers - and there was an "internal investigation" all wrapped up cosily after a wee while with a column on the local rag saying that the cop in question had been disciplined. However the nature of the disciplinary action was not divulged. I imagine he had to suck his bosses cock every day for a month... 'Power without responsibility' is the in thing at the minute with the Murdoch/News Corp scandal but I think the 'power without responsibility' tag should be hung round the neck of the police in the UK rather than the press. There'll be more bent coppers out there than bent reporters.
