trigger2 3,145
Aye i agree, but sometimes it's jackanory time on here. Also i don't think it's 'graft' if you are walking about a field in the dark trying to find something to slip on. dont you do the same thing in the day? seen plenty of dogs collapse from being slipped on stuff. whats graft in your eyes. Sorry mate, what i meant was. If a guy is out twice a week and does 60 runs a night, taking 40 bunnies. and a guy is out 5 nights a week having 20 or less runs and taking 10 or less a night. Which dogs see more graft??? Just going out with dog and lamp and walking about isnt graft, unless you have the game to fill the time. Some folk can do more graft in far less time, due to the land / game they have. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
P.S - well done for taking 5000-10000 rabbits a season with the one dog, that's good going in anyones eyes! Quote Link to post

I know boys going out 5/6 times a week but only getting about 10 slips a night sometimes less.......would you call that grafting because I wouldn't.I graft my dogs hard most days up hills and mountains all day in my eyes they graft. Blue one 89
its funny when i struggled to hunt years ago with no motor, trying to get a lift, shite lamp and battery that weighed as much as the dog, i lived for hunting, hated the summer, really looked forward to those cold windy nights of winter,, now its different, hunting on my doorstep, family , widowed, resposabilities ,its not my number 1 any more, life has a way of putting things in order,, still love the thrill of the chase , but feel the cold of winter now, summer is very much welcomed, walk/mooch them year round though, i think sometimes ive hunted myself out, overdosed ,dont need to prove myself or dogs to nobody perfectly happy the way things are ,if the nights right i'll be out, must be a heavy wind, moonless night, dont set nights 2/3 nights and say i must be out, if it happens it happens,, Good post. I am the very same these days. 1 Quote Link to post
windyhill 30
we go out 3 times a week all year around, always do one night lamping and 2 days mooching i cant see how anyone has the time to do anymore Edited July 15, 2011 by windyhill Quote Link to post
asbo93 10
if i am only catching upto 20 rabbits a night my dog will go out 7 nights the week. i give my dog the odd nights off through out the season. i will rest him after i have had decent nights out top mid 30s, 40s and 50s the amount of rest depends on how hard hes had to work for the bag. buy being worked regular they seem to pick up less injurys. i even run my dogs on frozen ground. lying c**t, complete unter bollacks i reckon Quote Link to post
Guest dances
Down here graft is just slang for work. So it is literally how many times I'm asking not how hard you push them Quote Link to post
