David B Allen 0 Posted July 20, 2011 Report Share Posted July 20, 2011 I've rebrowned an old side by side just to see if I could do it; "Browning" is a chemical reaction between the browning fluid and the heated gun metal and doing it at home in Mums oven and a blow lamp is not the best way but it worked, sort of. The only way to get rid of the marks is to "Brown" again; it's not like doing stone chips on your car. With my limited understanding of Damascus barrels I didn't think they are ment to be "Browned" but left to see the workmanship. Quote Link to post
