bellew win by tko

mitchell win by tko

burns on points

cant wait for some decent fighys as haye was a big let down what a waste off money.

bellew was disapiointing last nite on that performance last nite cleverly would destroy him.

cook should have never been in that ring if he had a back problem saying that if he was fully fit stll think burns would of beat him clearly.

mitchell was class last nit from the opening bell he looked sharp made murray miss with so many punches and took his best punches 2 prove he has a chin.i belive his head wansnt in the kasidits fight and would like 2 see a rematch.if he puts the work in in the jym he can go a long way class act.

gavin was poor again looked in terrible shape.

tony bellew didnt impress me for one round nathan cleverley would wipe the floor with him

curtis woodhouse showed he wasnt a pushover against frankie fair enough he lost but frankie needs 2 do something as he cudnt do alot with him 12 rounds hahaha pathetic if u ask me

and cookie needs 2 hang his gloves up bad back or not burns would of knocked him out hes got raw talent

all way amazes me m the comments on boxing bellew boxed a tactical fight last time was put on his arse so this time boxed behind the jab the punches thrown and landed told the true story , bellew can fight and box , his opponant last nite has proved he can punch and bellew new it , not every bout can be a throppens fight , as for clevelly wipeing the floor with him well he has seen his last two fights one he got put down and came back to win the second he out boxed him , think clevelly has food for thought :hmm: murry tried to blow michel away but never had the fire power got cut and sweling eyes early on mitchel played a blinder and got stronger as the fight went on fight of the night for me and mitchel will win a world title of note , felt sorry for cook as he was a good boxer and i dont think he was play acting ,but early sighns were burns was to fast and strong for him , a great venue and needs more nights of top boxing

Firstly im over the moon for Kevin Mitchell he,s a good kid out of the flats who just had too much too early and was brought down to earth with a bang last time out,no excuses but before his last fight his mrs left,he was drinking too much....the loss just totally done the kid in he was totally embarassed especially being at Upton Park.....any kid grown up poor to suddenly have money is a big test, and Kevin failed that test.....but good on him for dedicating himself i was made up for him last night he fought the perfect fight as he was always the better boxer....dont underestimate the part his trainer Jimmy Tibbs played as well he talked him through the fight beginning to end.

Terrible shame for Nicky Cook,i didnt fancy his chances anyway but thats no way for a career to end.....i wouldnt accuse any sportsman but there were certainly some strange betting patterns before the fight which id be very surprised if the board of control dont look further into........without doubt his injury was genuine, and having suffered with back trouble myself im amazed he even managed to square up again with a prolapsed disc :icon_eek:

Bellew fought the perfect fight....he showed great maturity ......boxing is about getting the W on your record not having a tear up......he strikes me as a bit of a hothead with an attitude....so the fact he maintained his discipline throughout is even more remarkable......personally i think Cleverly would be too quick for him but an interesting fight for the future.

Frankie Gavin......hopefully he will buckle down and dedicate himself to the sport or it could be a wasted talent there,again....too much too young.

Turned out a great weekend,we did the Anfield tour earlier in the day John Aldridge was the guide...what a lovely fella there was 4 of us,one of my pals has a younger brother who is slightly downs syndrome he loves Liverpool but living in London rarely gets a chance to go up....he had a great time,he never left John Aldrige,s side and he was a real nice and decent fella.....we offered him a nice drink after for being so kind he wouldnt have none of it infact even gave my pal a number to get tickets for his brother during the season ....he was a gentleman and a great advert for the club

Good wknd had by all :D

Glad you had a good weekend Gnash , yes , Frankie is now begining to frustrate people with his lack of discipline , he needs to stop spending his weekends on Bhams Broad St with the Zulus , or hes going to be yet another waste of talent , my mate who fought him on a Sky bill a while ago still reckons he would have beat him if he had been "allowed " to and to be honest the more we see of Frankie the more i believe him ! By the way , if Kev fights at Upton Park again i shall come down and see you , also , was that you he gave the Hammers sign to at the end !!!?

I know you like your boxing mate whats your opinion on Ricky Burns

Sorry chief didnt see that little question....

I like him he,s a good fighter i followed his career for a few years now....personally i dont think he hits hard enough to beat the best but he,s certainly a top level fighter.....his biggest asset ive seen is he has a great attitude to the game and really lives the life and loves the sport....with the ability he has that will take him a long way but i feel his lack of power will prevent him beating the best the division has to offer.

No i doubt it,we was a touch closer to the ring,if you get my drift ;) ....there was a lot of the football crowd up in the cheapo seats id imagine that was who he was crossing the hammers to.....your welcome down here anytime mate.

Ive said for a long time now the kids who win Olympic medals are at an instant disadvantage when they turn pro because from the off their careers are scrutinized.....where most lads turn pro quietly and get a bunch of fights behind them before they get any real attention the Olympians have a ton of pressure on them from the off through tv deals etc....the plus side of that is money.....but big money with young kids is not a good move from a dedicated boxing point of view....

Personally id like to see these kids stay amateur a bit longer.....but the lure of money/fame is too tempting of course....a kid like Gavin thinks they have made it before they have done anything unfortunately......it wouldnt hurt for him to have lost that fight last night its sometimes whats needed to get their feet back on the ground.

Guest THE BEATNICK

hi gnasher, your right about ricky burns he doesnt have the weight of punch thats required at the top which is a pity as he is a dedicated lad and very quiet outside the ring, young mitchell fought a very good fight and certainly made up for his last performance and nicky cook couldnt continue because as you well know its hard enough to move slowly never mind box with a slipped disc so all in all not a bad night for you london lads.
