No excess is exellent... Tesco have £60 excess. Are you SURE ther is no excess ?? There usualy is !

Cheers.

When we were shopping around, there were plenty for around £5 per month with no excess BUT to my mind, the deal we got was a couple of pounds more per month, but over the year was say £24 (Might be £8 per month we are paying, not sure would have to look). £24 worked out cheaper than £60 if you see what I mean.

Don't mind at all, in fact I just dug the policy out. It's with Petpal's and £7.33 per month. Total pay outs are slightly less than Tescos at £2k per incident but as I say, no excess. Look here

Well, if you can get insurance for less than £10 a month, with no excess, that's great ! And for any one who is talking about working dogs... I've never had one company ask, either on line or on the phone, if the dog is a worker.... as I said erlier, the only restrictions I've found is "Racing Dogs". But I will say... insurance is a must if you work your dog, espesialy lamping ! Vet bills are outrageous now, so it's a choice between having your dog "fixed" or PTS !!

Cheers.

I've often thougth about insuring my lurchers but have never bothered, I've been spoiled until recently when a fantastic vet near me retired

Dog 1 - 7.5 yrs old - Vets fees to date £500 C section, £45 stitches in Chest (3 am call out!!), £50 front toe off - total £595 - if insured this would have cost £900 (so £300 up!?)

Dog 2 - nearly 3 - £57 for stitches in back of front wrist - insurance during this time would have been £360

Dog 3 - 10 months - not working so doesn't really count - but would have forked out £80 in insurance by now.

So £1340 in insurance v £652 in actual costs. I put abit of money away each month in case anything goes wrong and maybe I've been lucky but for me its been the better option (touch wood - I've probably f*****g jinked myself now!!_):wallbash:
