Britishbull24 131
I was just wondering what you guys thought was a fair price for a pup. I know alot of you give your pups away to friends because you know they are going to working homes, But because im only just getting into working dogs ill obviously have to buy my first pup and take the chance on whether it is any good. The reason i ask is it seems to varey alot between different people. For example iv seen Patts advertised for £350 quid. Quote Link to post

fat man 4,741
BB24 why dont you get to know someone thats at the diging game and ask can you come along with them come the season and that you will share the work load. Then you will see first hand what there dogs are like and who knows if they were alright lads they might offer you a pup or even better a young terrier ready for starting.Dont go rushing in buying a pup because it has a big name behind it,they usually turn out shite, better to get one from worker to worker, and a lot better if you get the chance to see them work.Good luck anyway. Get to know who`s who in the terrier world.Just because they go on this site does not make them good terriermen.Lots on here would not know a good dog from a chicken sandwich. If a pup is free it does not make it a good pup.The top lads, with the best stock,do give pups to very close friends and would never dream of selling.BUT a lot of lads like to jump on the top lads band wagon by saying "we dont charge for pups because we are in it for the dogs not the money" ,when really there stock is NOT worth selling !!!!.Tread carefully and do your homework.
