Great news for the new childrens charity DVD lads

Hi lads,

 

Well I have had some really good news this morning in regards to the new charity DVD after talking via email to Mr Nigel Allen, the Editor of the monthly Airgun Shooter magazine and Airgun.TV.

 

It looks like the DVD will be a big hit and make a lot of money for the childrens charity .

 

Here is a copy of the email chain sent between me and Mr Nigel Allen .

 

As you can see the ball is now in our court to get a move on and get a copy to Nigel by mid October .

 

From me to Mr Allen

 

Hi Nigel,

 

I along with some other really talented shots and members of the Hunting Life Forum (Air rifle section) and Malc Barnard (Ghostmaker1970) are making a charity air rifle hunting DVD.

 

All the proceeds (100%) from the DVD will be going to the Christian Lewis Trust which is a children's cancer charity in the UK.

 

I am trying to advertise the DVD in advance of its release date (Christmas 2011). We have already shot a hell of a lot of high quality footage and continue to do so to ensure that this DVD will be the best air rifle hunting DVD on the market. I have already seen a lot of the footage that as come in to the editing centre and its A1.

 

The DVD will be finished in DVD quality format with most of the footage already filmed in HD quality.

 

We are filming the vermin control as it is really done in the real world and not how a lot of shooters think it is done. This being said some of the shots will be at ranges in excess of 55 yards using sub 12 ft / lb air rifles.

 

It would be great if you and your channel and maybe magazine would support us in getting the advertisement that we need to make lots of money for the charity. I would be more than happy to add anything you want in to the DVD to assist you and your business in return for your help.

 

Remember not 1penny goes into any of our pockets Nigel.

From Mr Allen to me

 

Hi Si. Good to hear from you. I'd almost finished a response to this email when my system auto-rebooted... so if you have another, part-finished reply in your InBox, that's why!

Anyway, I was saying: Of course I'll support this great cause. Get me the preview asap and I'll put it onto AirgunTV (which can be linked with Airgun Shooter's Facebook and Twitter accounts, my Blog, and AirgunTV's FB/Twitter/iTunes accounts).

I'll announce the good cause in Airgun Shooter's 'Scene' pages, too, with full details, and perhaps follow it up with a mini 'editor's review' of the film. Not sure if we'll be able to include it in the magazine's Media Shop, though, as being a charity, it could complicate matters from an accounting perspective (as we'd have to charge post, etc.). But I could print details of where/how to buy it easily enough in the editorial preview and subsequent review. No problem.

But... here are the caveats. (This IS publishing!)

1. Your best time for sales is 2nd week of November to 3rd week of December. Therefore, you need to be in my December 2011 (preview in Scene) and January 2012 (editor's review) issues.

2. This means I need to have seen the DVD by mid-October at the absolute latest.

3. We could put the 'advert' up on AirgunTV earlier, of course, but to maximise 'excitement' (and therefore get the sales), you'll need to be in print at the times suggested in (1) above. Are you able to get me a completed DVD by the dates specified in (2)?

Thank you very much for your kind support sir, you are offering us (the lads from the Hunting Life Forum) much more than we anticipated, so thank you again.

 

Ill pass on this great news to my friends on the HLF I the hope that it will spare them on even more to get that special bit of hunting footage that little bit faster for you.

 

Ill endeavour to get you a finished and fully edited DVD by mid October and will work flat out if all the footage is ready while Im in Canada with work finalising the finished product.

It must be taking alot of your time and it shows in the preview that its time well spent Is there any chance of me and smoggy adam getting our ugly mugs into the dvd?? if yes then let me know the details etc etc and also put me and adam down for a copy each when finished.

Due to popular demand both on here and on the Rapid Owners Forum I have decided to add another section to the DVD entitled (Shooting footage from our friends)This section will be dedicated to anyone who as good quality and steady (not shakey) footage.

 

I will also add some photos too if of a very high megga pixel.

 

So Millsey get filming buddy but i need the footage by the 25th July please if possible and 10th August at the latest for when i return to Canada a few days later, as you can see Im now on a really tight schedule from Nigel Allen.

Its got personal meaning Teddd for someone in this section that had a 8 year battle with cancer and so faught fire with fire and won.
