Sorry for your news mate, but at least you know that surviving pup is going to have the best start. My bitch lost 3 pups when she had a cesarian but luckily 6 survived. Out of interest how old was your bitch and was it her first litter?

She was 8 pal and it was her 1st litter but i did ask the vets advice before breeding her as i thought she would be past it but he said she was in good nick and maybe it was not ideal age for her 1st litter but he didnt see a problem occuring, but ive paid the price for the risk if this 1 turns out as good as his dam and sire it'll be worth it be the dearest pup i ever buy tho!

My bitch was 6 and it was her first litter - I didn't realise the risk - but like you have learned the hard and expensive way. Vets bills came to close on £500 I think with C section and injections etc - so that makes my pup the dearest dog I've ever owned too - hopefully it'll pay off for us both. Good luck with your pup and bitch now, I'm sure everything will go well from here on in.

breedings definatly risky..we had one had to have cesarean too..nearly lost bitch in labour but they all survived...even had one that stopped giving birth half way through labour so we thought she had finished next day she started again! we rushed her to vets in back of car which she gave birth to a dead green puppy on my lap!! she had 2 dead ones and another live 1. vet said she must have got carried away with pups she had and stopped labour!!! crazy...just shows u never know.

Yeah i remember Rocky1 and the vet didnt do any test to my knowledge on the milk the bitch is feeding it but i hav just bin and bought sum substitute puppy milk from the vets tonight just to make sure he is getting enough, slept bout an hour last nite coz the bitch was well outta it and wasnt really helping him to feed so i was up all nite showing him the teats as he wasnt getting the hang of it, shes a lot better we him today tho now shes come round from all the drugs, its guna be a good few sleepless nights ahead for me tho just hope everything goes ok

Mine gave birth to a dead 1 yesterday morning thats when she was rushed to the vets the only choices bein c-section or pts and the latter definitly wasn't an option!
