laguna whippets

Recommended Posts

And that is the crux of the matter Idealation, There is a demand for the elusive 'Working Whippet' and some one is supplying that demand. And it seems on the back of a show/coursing kennel of the past.

If people did there home work I am sure they could find other 'working whippets' without all the marketing and spin, but sadly people want a 'one stop shop' just like 'Hancocks' is the 'one stop shop'for the collie X fans ;) It's not just MB either there are a few people now pushing out a few litters of this lucrative commodity also, and like I said earlier most are not doing it from the goodness of their heart or the benefit of the breed but for the £££ in their wallets.

I will stand down of my soapbox now as I have to whelp a litter of jackapoos

all you are doing is showing your ignorance, how little you know about what is and what isnt when it comes to whippets, breeding, and history, if you know him so well nip up the road, and get the name

I know mate, the lack or 'emoticons' is creating problems. If i could use them i'd have stuck a grinning face and a thumbs up on the end of that last post and you'd have known i was pulling your leg b

MB doesnt carry the laguna prefix, do any of the dogs pictured or mentioned in this thread actualy have the laguna prefix at the start of there kennel name..'I seriously doubt it'If you want a laguna

ask mb his prices for pups and compare them to other breeders of (working whippets) the guy makes money you say how much does he spend on the food and walfare of his animals, the time he puts into the pups worming etc take all that in to consideration for what the price of the pups are and he is welcome to have a little bit back imo...

You are entitled to your view mate, but as i have said i don't really think Mike does sell his dogs "on the back of a show/coursing kennel of the past", i think he sells them on their working ability. When i went to him for a pup, he briefly mentioned laguna, as much as he mentioned any of the other lines in the pups, but mainly we talked of working abilities, not lineage. And i went for said pup after seeing dogs from him work, not after reading the Laguna tag. And i think most others are the same.

As i said before he is nothing like hancock. The only similarity is that he does sell pups, but obviously on a far far far smaller scale.

At the end of the day he has put a decent number of decent working whippets in the field, and whatever 'politics' surround whatever name people attach to them, surely, for the breed, that's the important thing.
