If you are going to get rid of the old cock I'd make sure the new stag is fertile first,

I'm not too worried about them being fertile tbh mate, I keep them free range at work and the lads will moan if there ends up hundreds coming begging in the bagging shed its bad enough as it is :D

just out of curiosity why are you going to keep a stag and get shut of the old cock

 

Because I think its going to be a nicer bird when its fully moulted.

 

exactly you think, not know, the cock produced these nicer looking fowl, so why get rid of him for somthing that may not produce fowl anywhere near as good as himself, atleast the broodcock your using at the mo is a proven producer of lookers
