gnipper 6,427
I had a hen sat on 13 eggs and all 13 hatched, unfortunately 1 died but I think a dozen is more than enough for her to run round after. Dad Mum I've took them home for a couple of weeks until their a bit bigger to rough it at work with the rest of them free range.
Millet 4,497
Good result Gnipper but i would say 12 chick's under one hen is pushing it a bit but i hope they all do well and you get plenty of hen's..
gamerooster 1,179
good hatch that mate, had a few like that this year 11 out of 11 and 9 out of 9, all gamefowl aswell. just keep an eye on the maggies, had them take 3 chicks out of 5 of a ginger hen, but then i caught 3 maggies in a trap so were equal now
gnipper 6,427
She seems to be coping ok with them for now, there safe from Maggie's and stuff too I've put a roof on their pen till their bigger. We've got the mother in laws staffy at ours for the week and the hen taught that to keep away last night

gnipper 6,427
These chicks are still doing well, i've got another one back off my mate who hatched some under a broody too so I can see roughly what they might turn out like.
gnipper 6,427
The ferrets are eating well at the moment, I can't believe how many turned out cockerels. If anyone wants a couple of young cockerels let me know before they get turned into ferret shite like their brothers. Cheers
Hardfeather 56
I'd keep the best stag and kill the cock

gnipper 6,427
I'd keep the best stag and kill the cock The older stag from the first batch is here to stay I think, really long legged bonny bird and he's just starting to tread the hens so I might rehome the old boy. All the cocks out of the youngsters pictured are getting necked if nobody wants them, i've done 6 so far
