its not that bad i shot my self in the foot. i was shooting rabbits and i seen one on the other side of a fence as i made my way closer i went through a bush with my gun by my side and the bush hit the triger and shot me through the top of my boot i didnt even think it had got me so i loaded up the gun again as the rabbit was still there but as i lifted the gun it made a run for it. by this time my foot was throbing so i had a look there was a tiny hole in the top of my boot so i took it of and there was no hole in the sole then i seen my blood red sock and thats when the pain started t took my sock off and there was a hole stright through my toe so i thought it must hsve gon all the way through but i couldnt find the pellet in my boot. if i had found the pellet i would not have gone to a&e but im glad i did as the pellet had hit my bone and shatterd and left 4 pices of pellet in my toe. the worst bit was i had no phone on me so had to bike home 4 miles with my foot pissing blood into my boot beforei couldring ataxi to take me to a&e. all ended ok aftermy op. a lesson was learnt that day ALLWAYS HAVE YOUR SAFTY ON.

so you no the way i feel mate it bloody hurts and i feel like a fool . and as for the gun out of the bag teddd it was the wether condions and the damp thats wy i gave them a wipe down i look after my guns

Pure stupidity! Yet another avoidable statistic for the anti gun brigade! Always check gun is unloaded and safety is ON before you even think of cleaning it! If any doubt point barrel at the ground and fire into the ground.

Accidents do happen bud was down my local rfd today he cocked and handed me a BSA r10 saying it's ok to shoot not loaded aimed at his lovely clock on the wall it now has a .22 hole right under the 12 ha ha

atleast your hand was over the end mate or it may have hit someone else

 

treat every rifle as if its loaded all the time and allways point in a safe direction you wont go wrong, its no substitute for not checking barrel empty and safety on, but is fool proof and another step towards complete safety.

 

All i can say is you learnt the hard way and on the plus side it was an air rifle, could have been 100x worse.
