Nets

Met Mick Dadd down at Raby castle and picked up some of his nets,,

First time I`ve had them with no bottom ring, and those wee sliders fitted instead,, seem very smooth,,,

 

Anybody used em ?? whatdya think.

I have experimented with sliders on some nets, mainly the larger poke nets and gate nets....my own personal opinion is that on purse nets they really don't perform much better than the standard ring, I believe that the main reason for using them comes down to personal preference and cosmetics rather than there performance,no doubt some will swear by them, but each to there own.......atb

There supposed to shut quicker as there shuting from each end but the ones ive made ive gave away never fancied sticking two pegs in every time i put a net down

100% agree we tried them but didn't find them any better than decent rings to be honest

These ones just replace the bottom ring with a slider,, they still only use one peg, will be interesting to give them a bash,, seem very welll made nets.

i met mick at the llandeilo game fair. he had them with him then i don't see much difference in them and the standard purse net.

I have some of these from Mick and i have to say i like them very much...

you can feel the difference even when your just handing the net...

your talking about poke nets with a peg each end and these are usually 5ft plus . you can use sliders on normal nets but as has been said not much difference in use

Don't really see how a slider will make any difference on the action of a well made net with a ring? also seems like the slider could get jammed / snagged / stuck on something easier than a ring.

use them horizontal on wide holes ect rubble piles i use the double sliders

i went to micks place last year and bought some of these and i think there great,they do seem to purse a lot smoother..
