Guest jt750
if you tell me where fibre glass grows i'll go and cut some ...seriously tho hazel is cheap because you can cut it yourself Quote Link to post

3175darren 1,101
Hazel is very good better if seasoned well,ie cutt the year before and dried in the green house, ideal for loose nets,I have a quick set and like the fibreglass poles on it, but never used one on a loose net,and think you would have to really get the top line tight, to stop it collapsing to the bottom of the poles when first rabbit strikes, unless you use the grommets/castrator bands, in a nut shell both have benefits,I think hazel though for a loose net would be my choice, you can buy small green garden stakes from B+Q but they are crap unless the ground is soft and in the dark will knack up on a good stone, which is a real pain, Quote Link to post
andy mecca 5
converted all my nets to quickset 5 years ago all have hazel sticks attached, still the same ones just keep a knife handy to sharpen any blunt spiked ends when im out Quote Link to post
shaunpauls7 131
Hazel for me more traditional and lets face it its free. dried out, straightened and varnished over a period of a few months . last for seasons just my opinion. atb shaun Quote Link to post
