I used to date a South African girl who had just moved over here with her family. They had brought two Ridgebacks with them, not the pussy ones you see over here, but the real deal, some VERY impressive looking dogs. They had an absolute hatred of black folk, mainly due to the fact that most crime around them was committed by blacks and so were trained that if they saw an unknown black trying to enter the house / yard etc, they just piled in. All well and good, until you move to the U.K and your postie is a black bloke. where do i buy a pup Any middle - upper class slightly supremacist white folk around Johannesburg should be able to suggest somewhere. . . . . . . Maybe while you are at it, you could pick up one of them things that burns to death anyone who approaches your car? With regard to them ridgebacks of my x missus - only slight problem for me is that they were pretty protective over the girls, and so for the first month of dating her, it was always a little bit scary, you'd lean in to kiss your missus and find yourself being taken out and pinned by a dog that felt the size of a donkey. These ones were Rhodesian Ridgebacks, but proper working ones, rather than the show shit you get here. Then Boerboels i also saw in Africa, and as you say, very impressive indeed! blan89 159 Posted July 10, 2011 Report Share Posted July 10, 2011 i've got a soft spot for ridgebacks,i got attacked by a giant schnauzer when i was about 13 in a kennel i worked at,there was a ridgeback called simba in a pen at the other end of the field who heard it kicking off jumped the 6 foot fence and came and distracted the other dog,he then got his kicked by the schnauzer aswell but the big f****r let go of me long enough for me to get hold of its lead and a bin lid for a shield lol never seen another decent one,but always got my eye out. These two ridgebacks were very impressive animals, pure muscle, far bigger and heavier built than most you see here, but at the same time more athletic. Really fine specimens.
