the way some of these lads are going there is going to be none left to breed let alone dig .at least we have the choice to release them instead of just leaving dead in the field or even worse injured somewhere which seems to be the norm.

i know exactly how you feel mate.....pissed off! just like me :D i had a bit of a rant on here about a month back and the response was 50/50. i'd just looked at a post from some lads who'd been out and rifled a dozen charlies in one night :censored: i'd never disagree ther needs to be some culling done but there's always next season to consider. dug five foxes just the otherday but they certainly weren't all dead at the end of it, fighting fit in fact!!! shot a couple of oldish dog foxes and left the rest to run :victory: glad to hear i'm not the only one with these thoughts. cheers tallyho :drink:

horses for courses , everyone has there sport :victory: , if there is more than one person has the permission then why not meet up with them , ask about them , come to some sort of agreement , even part take up in both sports see both sides :)

Was talking to a lad 3 days ago he and 2 others go out together with the rifles, he was telling me he had shot 38 since Christmas himself then there's his 2 mates, he then went on to say that he was chattin to a few terriermen who said they were'nt finding anything to ground, this seemed to be the same all over this season both here and accross the puddle. I think the rifle men are ripping the balls out of it, going out and shooting 5-15 in a night is'nt vermin control it's wholesale slaughter. If you were shooting for the pot would you shoot 20 pheasants 10 pigeons 15 hares 25 rabbits out on a days shoot??? I think not.JMHO.

Just giving a comparrision, why slaughter foxes but when it comes to game that can only be taken with a gun you do the best to preserve it for yourselves?????????Maybe us terrier men should help our selves to the gamebirds in the penns after all is that not what terriermen accross the puddle do ??Protect YOUR SPORT?? :hmm:

Not trying to have a spat with you mate :drinks: ... Just think that to have a pop at someone who shares you permission is a little bit fecking hypocritical.. if you were on a day out digging, got one and seen another go to ground in another earth would you pass up on it saying.. i've had my sport and leave that for the rifle lads?

I think the argument is that we can choose to let some game run as where the riflemen can't, most riflemen don't even get their boots dirty as they don't even enter the field, they just shoot from the vehicle or from the side of the road, I'm not digging at boys who shoot with the rifle (excuse the punn) far from it it's the numbers that are being taken. It's the I shot 20 last night brigade, it's slaughter not sport.JMO.

fair doos bud... im not have a pop at the digging lads and appreciate that there is more graft involved :weight_lift2: (unless you ground the vehicle ;). IMHO if someone shoots that many foxs in a night there is obviously a population problem... this is where the 'sport' element kinda gets blurred in favour of 'control'.. which is obviously not quite so practical from a terrier mans perspective but a necessary evil.

Anyway... by the sounds of it it's more a case of sour grapes...one occupied earth and two foxs shot... 'to late... to late will be the cry'. :guitar2:

Well done lads keep it up, who needs antis, when we can bitch at each other in public and let them sit back and rub their hands together. Fu....g great. :clapper::clapper::clapper:

Mouse you say in your experience it is the norm for riflemen to leave injured foxes everywhere, can you please quantify such a sweeping statement, as in certain circles that could render you liable for slander and defemation of character.

There is an old saying, its better to keep your mouth shut and let people think your stupid, than to open it and prove it.

Around where you live they might, if you are including the UK that is a ridiculous statement to make.
