Col_c88 41
I've talked the misses round (with help from RakeAboot) to letting me get 2 more ferrets, gonna get 2 jill kits off me mate but in order to have the hobs living together i need to castrate them, I've tried countless times to give them a chance to get on but even in the big run they just rag each other to bits after 5 minuts of playing. So im just wondering how long after castration i can put them together and how long the recovery time is. Just so i can let me mate know how long he needs to keep hold of the 2 jills for me Cheers. B.P.R 2,798
I got my job done on Monday. They done a good job. Went back on Wednesday for a checkup of the stitches an then they were back together Wednesday afternoon. They said if I had hills then I would have to wait a few weeks as there might still be sperm in the wanger. I've got 3 young hobs. They're fine together and the two brothers are tolerant. Gettin them all done over the course of this year. It's a dear do Quote Link to post

Kay 3,709
A pretty straightforward operation to most vets if the testes are both descended , most hobs are able to go in with other ferrets after there surgery within a month , that naturally varies with each ferret Quote Link to post
HUnter_zero 58
1) how long after castration i can put them together 2) how long the recovery time is. 1) 3 to 5 weeks 2) 7 to 10 days (3 to 6 weeks for fur to grow back) John Quote Link to post
joe14 98
Depends how far into season the hobs are is to how long to wait till you can put them together. If theyve only just come into season and you get them done it wont take long at all, but if theyve been in season a whilse it will take about 3/4 weeks for hormones to calm down. Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
My hob is back in with the rest now. It was in 3 days after op. There's only 1 Jill though and she's spayed. Quote Link to post
