fcuktheban 140
Not really interested in anything but what they can do underground and being able to see them up top when they are done but here's a google search on different looks. EU micro never heard of "bootlace" until someone on here mentioned it angora greyhound The only one from that list I might like is greyhound but I wouldn't pay more for it Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
That bottom one is how i like my ferrets. Quote Link to post
simonrocco 175
sounds like most people on here are more bothered about how a ferret looks rather than what it can do underground Quote Link to post

I believe your right mate but they should've been named Whippet ferrets if it was because of the roached back.Never had a roached backed Greyhound and I trained plenty over the years. No doubt there will be some out there but I've never came across one. A greyhound should be ,-“ headed like a snake and necked like a drake, backed like a beam, sided like a bream, footed like a cat and tailed like a rat”. Quote Link to post

I love that description, it's always been to me, how any running dog should be. I think the "roach back" thing comes rather, from the tucked waist and deep chest of the grey (or whip) giving the impression of a roached (ish) or at least raised, back. My whippet doesnt have a roached back either when standing normal. Would be a bit of a deformity. Quote Link to post

Tiercel 6,986
When I was a kid growing up in the Cynon valley, most ferrets looked like the 'Greyhound' type of ferret but there again they were almost exsclusivly fed on a diet of bread and milk, with the odd bit of meat. I wonder if that has anything to do with the leanness of the ferrets? TC Quote Link to post

Thing is, although lean, i think of the greyhound types as strong and muscular. I have an albino, greyhound type jill here, but her sister (poley) is much stockier, although weighs less over all. I put the albino to a hob of mine who is similar boy type, lean etc, although also a big lad. I am keeping kits from the litter and it will be interesting to see what size/shape they turn out.
