Does it annoy the shit out of anybody else that people have started to use the word 'Chav' as a means to refer to anybody they see as beneath themselves regardless of 'class?' I can't f*****g stand snobbery at any level, let alone when it's being used in a context like this.

Sitting typing this in my front room wearing ex army DPM trousers, just like I could be on any other day...

Yes! I agree mate.

There's always been snobbery, but it seems worse these days as some people from working class backgrounds (who now live in some comfort) are selling out by pretending to be something they're not. They seem to be the worst at this sort of thing, as they try to convince themselves they're middle/upper class and will look down their noses on anyone else less fortunate to put that distance between what they know they are, and what they long to be.

Maybe it makes them feel good about themselves as they struggle with their own true identity?

Just look at the amount of posts on here deriding gay, coloured, overweight, chav types such as IanB & Millet

That's just unkind

Personally, I prefer a pure bull to a bull cross but then again I ruined a lovely pair of Bruno Magli's once when I was out on the foxes

I'm afraid what you perceive to be a glimmer is nothing but the glint of the morning sun off the shaven heads of the tattooed chavs old chap.

I have never broken anything other than mothers best crockery and wind. :D

Just because "Mogadon" can string a sentence together is no reflection on how well (or badly) educated he is....I have read his comments on another thread and let me tell you, as far as I can see he is just another common or garden tit!

What this educated (or not) wordsmith fails to see is that life is a patchwork quilt, simplistic as it may be, a tit is a tit, no matter what he chooses to dress in......and good lads are good lads, end of!

I have met people from all echelons of society, stood and had the craic with them, done business with them, hunted with them and believe me I found saints and sinners at all levels.

The very fact that "Mogadon" choooses to be provocative with every post he has made on this forum so far makes me doubt him, in my eyes, he is nothing more than Markbrick with a dictionary!

Magdon,

The only thing I disagree about is your comments on illegal poaching and badger baiting, the ordinary person on the street would be only aware of the badger baiting because of the huge press behind it.

Most people would be ignorant of deer dogs and would see the romantic side of the poacher.

It was and always has been the antis spreading lies that has brought the end and the back hander to Labour, who wanted to appeal to all the PC townies and veggies.

Nowadays people are so soft, they talk about stopping cruelty and then bang on about the venison they had on Sunday in the pub. They like eating venision but don't agree with killing it.

This is todays logic, we have become a national of townies that have no concept of the real world.

Richie

I think far more people were aware of realities and what's involved in the running of deer with longdogs and the digging of badger with terriers than you imagine. Yes the antis made full use of the tabloid press to "educate" the uninformed on their views on the subject. However there was already a significant proportion of the voting public who had already decided that it wasn't for them. The fact is antis did a far better job of "educating" the rest of the voting public than the longdog and terrier men is whole heartedly the dogmen's fault.I believe that they realised that as soon as the full beam of the anti hunting campaigners spotlight came to bear they where as doomed as the lamped rabbit with a good whippetx coming down the beam.

I'd even go as far as to say that the hunting fraternity would have willingly sacrificed them to the vote if they could have seen a way of negotiating a compromise settlement towards licensed hunting rather than a complete ban.

There is a world of difference between venison that has been harvested legitimately and cleanly via legal means, and the under the counter dog run stuff. Hence people making that choice and appreciating the quality.

There is a huge difference between choosing to eat, cleanly and legitimately harvested venison, and enjoying the quality, and the now illegal running of deer with longdogs. Hence more people making that choice.

I take it your BASC membership is fully paid up?:laugh: , never mind the educated stuff, as far as I am concerned you can take your stalkers snobbery and shooters narrow minded views on the ethics of hunting venison and shove them right up your arse!:thumbs:

I disagree. A good lad can be a tit if he dresses, or acts that way. There are no divides in society when it comes to that indisputable fact.

As for the Markbrick reference. I'm unable to comment as I have no idea as to whom or what it refers.
