Who makes the best dogmen?

Recommended Posts

all the best dogs I've seen are owned with people who don't work. I work in the oil industry as some folk on here know which means I do some crazy hours which means the dogs suffer. All the guys I've went out with hunting that have had the best dogs have never worked. So I'm asking if in your experience do you think to have a dog at it's peak you really need to be full time dogman? Are all the best dogs you know of owned by unemployed folk?

i think that stabba makes the best dog man doesnt work and just bums about around fernsca so i am led to belive the dogs in is avartar look as tho thay are on the e,s,a as well

I've seen the best and worst of dogs in both camps Baw. What your saying is that if your unemployed you 'should' have more time but I really don't think thats always the case. A good dogman is determ

I think if you've got a dog you got to make the time for it whether you work or not, I know lads who can't be assed to work, would rather sit at home or in the pub and scrounge I don't think they care about themselves let alone a dog, one of my good mates who often works with me is up at 5am to sort the dogs on site no later than 8am 5 days a week and runs the dogs most nights in the winter walks them every night after work. I think he's a good dog man, he's definately dedicated to his dogs and puts the time in.

Baw after the few chats we've had your obviously gonna do the right things by your pup when/if you get it.

I havent read all the replies to this thread so it may have been said before. I dont think wether or not you work is relevant to how good a dogman you are. Its about your dedication and making time for your animals. I work full time and when the season comes i will be lamping full time aswell. I dont stop from when i get home from work until 10 or 11 o clock exercising, feeding and grooming my 3 dogs and sorting the horse. I dont find it a chore to be out conditioning and working my dogs it whats i love doing. It dosen't take all day to sort a dog out so it easily done after work. You may have all the time in the world if you dont work but chances are you wont have much of an income so how can you afford to feed and provide your animals with the best. If you dont work and still earn from whatever then thats different. Its rarely free to work your dogs once you have payed for a motor and fuel.

hate to say it lol but I think if your employed you do struggle to get the hours in then when your not, obviously basing this on two motivated dog men in work and out but the ones that don't work can get out 4-5 times a week if not more for a good duration and not have to fit work around it and that time seriously shows in a dog. just my experiences of being both sides of the fence so to speak

I have got nothing to prove to anyone what my dog can and cannot do.Im pleased with him and the way he works and thats all that counts.I do not take pleasure in trying to run other peoples dogs into the ground,we are all in the same sport and its great to watch other types of dog work, regardless of who is employed or unemployed.I have not been in this game long, but enjoy getting out with my dog and doing our bit, regardless of numbers. So if you want an extention to your dick go and get viagra.Im surprised you actually have time to get out with your dogs as your always on here and the dating web site, but hay ho each to their own.

Stabba is a good mate of mine and i haven't met anybody, and i mean anybody who looks after their dogs better than he does. The best thing about stabba is he always manages to spell avatar, they and though correctly

In regards to the original question, i think that the quality of time spent with your dogs is more important. And an abundance of game also brings dogs on quickly....

personally i work shifts and so does my woman and she is on the opposite shift so as soon as i finish work im minding 2 kids so im stuck trying to get baby sitters so i can walk the dogs mid week. The weekends are different though thank god i can walk and work them saturday and sunday .I know of lads that dont work and they still cant get the best out of their dogs but on the other hand i know lads that work serious hours and can still lay down the ground work when it comes to bringin on pups.I think it all depends on what peoples circumstances are and how eager they are to get the best from their dogs
