So it was stock broken years ago and spends all it's time around sheep and lambs but it got confused? I'm confused ... You've banged on before about your dogs being 100% around stock, and in fact ever

I would never own a labrador , have you seen how many of thier owners go blind

They destroyed it! But it was a small one that wasn't used for fruit yield, so it wasn't a problem. I hand reared loads of the kids when they needed it, used to ride my horse and the kids would all ru

Seems to be a common thing, other dogs not liking Labs, hear about it all the time. Nearly always black ones?

Really? It was my missus who 1st told me. She said while she was out on a normal walk, a lab came over, and for the 1st time she saw baz's teeth being shown to another dog. Since then we have noticed it on quite a few occasions..I tell him and he stops but clears off out of the way, while the other dogs play, it strange, didnt know it was more common.. :hmm:

Aye mine don't like black labs either. I think it's to do with them coming over to them all boisterous and with hackles up most of the time. The owners seem to think that's ok but you know the type who own labs :tongue2:

Out the back behind me where I cross to go lamping there are several goats and in the dark from a distance they do resemble deer slightly, but any stock broken dog should realise this when they get close and come away. Mine do. No excuse for dogs to have a go except for poor training.

Although I must admit I could not trust them 100% with chooks if I wasn't there :icon_eek: :icon_eek: :icon_eek: LOL.

Cheers, D.

One went to play but the other was hanging of the back of the brown one! Once we had freed it and got them to their encloser, i gave him a bolloxing

:o:o .. i would keep well away from livestock especially dark coloured lamb's till you think the dog is trust worthy.. but from experience i have found once they have a go they can never be trusted agian.

The dog were stock broken years ago. Have to be with the ground i hunt. More sheep than grass....(and he sees lambs nearly every day of his life, while they are around, lol) He was confused i guess, as they are not dissimilar while being carried to a few other things they already run.

Told once and thats him...And once he has the farmyard smell.... Same as chickens and hens, once he told for killing one on a farm he never has since. Yet still does the phesant..

And they all play all day long now, its funny to watch. Especially as the goats come out on top because the dog know they cant bite back....

So it was stock broken years ago and spends all it's time around sheep and lambs but it got confused? I'm confused ... You've banged on before about your dogs being 100% around stock, and in fact every chance you get you take a dig at me about mine ... no they're not "proper" workers but they get out and about for some fun - that includes the fens, and some lamping and regular mooching. The lurcher was never properly stock trained - I've always held my hand up to that, it was my mistake entirely; she's never showed interest but I've just never taken the chance because I know I failed her on that. The whippet is fine, and Millet can attest to that 'cause he's seen him run. I had chickens in my garden over a year ago, and neither dog touched them. The lurcher might not be broken properly but I can say that neither of my dogs has ever had any stock of any kind in it's teeth.

I love how you take the piss out of me but you make excuses for yourself. You pompous cock.
