If you don't keep the scar tissue supple it will go rigid & restrict movement of the muscle.I have the same with a shoulder & neck injury from 3 years ago.Lost about 30% of the movement in my neck & shoulder.

any tips on how 2 keep it supple ?

plenty of lead walkin is the anwers when you just leave adog the mussel heals but it goes knoty to the touch and it will be a likly place for reacurin injury fish and fishoil in food be good when the av these injurys jmo

thanks for that he gets plenty of fishoils as it is might just give him a little more ,and as for walking once the vets he ready 2 be walk he will be getting plenty of road walking ,but i,m going over do it as i think that will make it a recurints injury

I could be wrong here and i'm ready to be shot down in flames ...Scar tissue as it forms is naturally supple to allow movement for the wound to heal ..once the wound is healed and you can exercise your dog to stop you having problems you have to keep it supple by exercise because if you don't the scar tissue does go rigid and non pliable. This wound will always be a weak point for your dog too ..healed doesn't mean as good as new it means repaired and i think you might find your dog will work as well as before but his limit will come quicker

From what i remember the physio telling me that sounds about wright.I suppose a tear in a muscle is like any other kind of wound,it's going to leave a scar as it heals. But as you say,you need to keep the muscle moving & gentley stretching to keep the scar tissue as supple as poss.Limiting it's affect on the muscle. As i found out myself. If there is any lasting affect,no dout the dog will adapt & get on with it.Unlike us,lol.
