DeereHunter82 0
This may be a stupid question, but is there an import duty on a package if it is shipped from an individual in the US and not from a business? Quote Link to post

Greek Phil 5
This may be a stupid question, but is there an import duty on a package if it is shipped from an individual in the US and not from a business? It depends upon how its described in the shipping doc. i.e sample, gift, warranty repair, or goods purchased. If purchased have credit card receipt sent under different postage. US company's have to legally comply with the now very strict US export laws. Edited August 12, 2011 by Greek Phil Quote Link to post

Greek Phil 5
That's about the score of things. Although you can't legally send items that would be illegal in the country of receipt or the recipient has no legal right to own. You would also need to bare in mind the export rules of the country from which you sent them from. But no duty would be due as theoretically as a gift no payment was being ascribe to the transaction.
