greyhound vet in ireland

Recommended Posts

dos anyone know a good greyhound running dog vet in ireland preferrably in the midlands.my lurcher damaged his leg hitting a tree. he could walk ok afterwards but i laid him off for 2 weeks with rest and plenty of massage and just easy walking. i ran him after this and the next day there was swelling and some fluid under skin.i took dog to 2 diffrent vets both running dog vets. i got two different verdicts.one saying a burst blood vessile[broozing]in the bicep and just to massage everyday.the other one said a slight strain on the semimembranosus muscle. i think they are both wrong as the dog still in trouble with the leg.all the swelling is in the tensor fascia lata[triangle muscle] which is at the front of back leg not the side or rear. his hip seems to have fallen slightly as well .there is also soreness in the whip, gluteal and gruin muscle, please can anyone help so i can get this sorted and not make matters worse.

Ray Cuddihy is probably the best in Ireland, we've had greyhounds with him for years, with everything from broken metatarsals to cervical operations.. Everytime a success! Im sure most greyhound lads in Ireland would know him..

thanks a million, if anyone as a phone number

just a longshot mate, a few months back my dog fractured her metatarsal on her hind leg, after 4 wks of rest, i started to slowly road walk her, started of 1 mile a day, after the second day a lump appeared where the fracture was, it was soft to touch but caused her no pain, i treated it with witch hazel once a day for a week and it went down and hasn't returned since, as i say it's a longshot but here is a pic of the good leg and bad so you can see the difference, cheers......john.
