Cold Ethyl 63
Not too sure i aqquired her later in life think about 12 years she had a huge op that nearly killed her cos she took really unwell way back at the start of the year for tumours and had a full hysterectomy and cleaned out cos it had poisoned her as well. Then she was skinny for long enough then she looked just right and started collapsing and taking funny turns back to vet again and was hit with a heart complaint then it turned out it wasnt that at all she was riddled.Pissed cos they told me that was her sorted it was all removed the insurance had to fork out over a grand cos she was dealt with by a specialist. On friday she wouldnt let anyone touch her apart from stroking her head and face if you moved further down she was snarling and whimpering seems it all went terribly wrong inside.Im totally devastated i know people think its daft but i really did love the wee madam lifes way too calm and quiet without her.I was a wreck before we even got into the vets balwled like a baby all the way down in the car.My bitch is really down and the big lads just quiet still keep asking myself why her she had the very best of vet care food and all sorts the meds they gave her over the last year are all gold star stuff the insurance was paying so she got the very best.Gave her new orthapedic bed thingy to my neighbour and was in tears again Quote Link to post
TEXICAN 10
I feel your sorrow in my run with bulldogs I had to go through this many times it sucks! Keep your passion strong and never hold your tears back when you lose a good one. That just shows you really love and care for your dogs. 1 Quote Link to post
sallie 67
It always very sad to read a post regarding a loss, its like losing a family member. It aches and hurts and at least us ladies seem to get away with a darn good cry. Very sorry. Quote Link to post

lurcher330 2,297
sorry to hear about your dog i lost a little terrier last year belong to my 10 year old son i was out bushing with him and he flushed a rabbit into a yard that had 5 greyhounds running lose and they all attacked him carried him back to the van and started to ring all the vets i had in my phone but it was about 4 o clock on a saturday and i found it hard to find 1 but i then drove to a vets just to see if there was anyone there and by luck they were just closing up but they reopened and seen to him for me but he was too badly damaged and had to be put to sleep but what was the worst thing was when i got home with the dog and had to tell my sons what happened and i am not ashamed to say i broke down and shed a good few tears when my boys started to cry over there great little dog Scrappy Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
The kids were really upset as well they knew she wasnt very well and clearly something was wrong but when i came back without her they were heartbroken she used to sleep on my daughters bed all the time.Theyre still miserable but i think they understand that sometimes theres nothing else you can do its kinder sometimes this way.Ive got some really nice photos and her paw prints in cast and her rosette for golden oldie last year at an even thing we went too.Couldnt have done it on my own i havent slept for weeks worrying about her couldnt eat right either ate a little tonight and have to say feel better for it im not normally this bad i usually just deal with it and dont show emotion in front of anyone ever.Scared Andy and my dad witless with that one i think they dont see me cry.I do know though shes i n a better place for her and she can now rest and be free of pain just a shame shes left a lot of people who adored her behind Quote Link to post
