Today July 5th is our national day here on the Isle Of Man , over 1000yrs off local parliment , here is local lad's The BEE GEES singin national anthem

.

Sorry Lanesra and nothing personal, but I give that about a minute...Feckin' depressing. They'd have been better singing "Grease" or something like that. I hope the celebrations went well though, nice place.

It looks a lovely place. What does the three legs stand for or whats the story behind it ??

It's known as A TRISKELION , it's our national symbol , surrounded with the latin word's QUOCUNQUE JECERIS STABIT , meanin WHICHEVER WAY YOU THROW US WE WILL STAND ! Our coat off arms is A Perigrine and a Raven .

It looks nice there. Happy celebrating! How many people live there and what about the industries and jobs at the minute? Would there be many people who have spent their whole lives there and not travelled to the mainlands or abroad much? I'd like to go there some day.

Alright mate, about 80,000 live here mate , the main work is in the finance sector , though i work in the building trade (painter & decorator)use to be the main holiday destination until the 70s for the U.K. and the island was geared to it , though now i wouldnt recommend it too young families but it is a beautiful place STUNNING countryside to rival anywhere , maybe a bit biased but like going for a holiday but wouldnt live anywhere else in the world to be honest, most people have traveled , though older generation like farmers ect , dont leave there village/area they live in unless they have too .
