simmo 0
When I start mine on retrieve training I use something that they pick up and play with, at the moment I'm using an old glove or a tennis ball. To start off stand between the dog and their kennel and throw the object away. The dog will naturally fetch it back to the kennel and you can intercept him before he gets there and take it off him. At this point give him plenty of praise use his name alot to. When this starts to come natural take him further away, may take some time. Only allow 3 or 4 retrieves a day. This way its still a game and he should'nt get bored. This always works for me, but they'll still try your patience a fair bit when you start working them and they get a bit of rabbit fever.
