January Hares...

I allways thought the reason we ran hares when we do was because, in the spring and summer hares are usualy mating/pregnant and the crops are to high; and in the autumn and winter the hares aren't usualy mating/pregnant and the crops are down ? Saying that, I remember a half grown leveret being run in mistake for a rabbit in the last lamping comprtition, and that was in November !!! As for fitness; the buggers allways seem fit to me !! LOL !!

Lol, aye just a flying visit. Had a squatch on the boards and cloaked the hare thread, couldn't resist :tongue2: I only did that left thing to give you guys something to slag me about, it was getting too one sided :laugh:

i can only comment on rabbits,

but i find the hardest fastest rabbits down here in august by january there all bellied up again and most have had there 1st litter,

i will say that ive never found a january rabbit harder then a july rabbit or a january hare harder then a july hare pre the ban.

 

 

mark how can you tell with 3 dogs out of the moto whats harder :no::no::no: our seasons have moved its warmer now adays

Well said mate, place is full of f*****g saints. Reading on here you'd think folk pick there chases depending on how fit a hare looks. I've seen the fen DVDs, how you can tell how fit a hare is in the clap is beyond me :boogie:

Well said mate, place is full of f*****g saints. Reading on here you'd think folk pick there chases depending on how fit a hare looks. I've seen the fen DVDs, how you can tell how fit a hare is in the clap is beyond me :boogie:

the further it goes when you kick it the fitter it is.

if a dog catche a fen hare in january , in say 1 minuete giving it fair law .. was that a bad hare /or a good dog?

 

had it have taken 6 minuets to catch it .. wich was the best dog /or hare ?
