welshwizard 33
I use pine shavings in the sheds, rubber matting in some of my kennels and shredded paper in some of my other pens. Quote Link to post
BORDERSCOT 3,816
I keep mine in the house nowadays but when they were outside I kept them on straw for years but as foresterj says it'll probably be considered old fashioned. There'll be a much more expensive alternative which'll be popular just because it's costly... Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,037
i use duvets,, get them from ikea, only £2 just make shure you put them in a duvet cover, as the dogs will shred them if ya dont. chuck them over the washing line for an hour or two whilst the dogs sun bathing on the garden. you can even wash them in the washing machine Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
I used to use shredded cardboard, would be awesome if kennel was in a shed. The only downside was that it got all over the garden and blew everywhere, hence why it would be good in a shed. Other than that it was really warm and absorbent, odour free, could be left in for a week or 2 easily. Loved it. Now I've switched to just carpet on the kennel floor and a pet bed mat type thing which is £2.99 from JTF wholesale. Got a few of them which I wash every week or when dirty and alternate. They are basically a 2" thick foam mat with a cotton/nylon cover. This I find is plenty for summer. I haven't decided what to use for winter yet to replace the shredded card. Probably just a big duvet or sleeping bag? Any ideas? Gaz Edited July 3, 2011 by gareth_daniel Quote Link to post
