mexlad 189 Posted July 1, 2011 Report Share Posted July 1, 2011 just wondered if anyone has got or had or knows anything about the hilux surf i have read that they have problems with over heating and heads blowing but that seems to be the 2.5 rather than the 3 ltr and the 3 ltr is supposed to be as good on diesel as the 2.5, i was thinking about a defender but there going for daft money any advice is welcome because i know nothing about cars. atb mexlad Quote Link to post Share on other sites

You`dbe better with a 1.6 petrol Vitara, than a surf! or a Pajero, the pajeros not much better on fuel, but at least yeh get a decent amount of space in it,, the surfs like an estate car,, but on 20 mpg ! bigears 205 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Share Posted July 5, 2011 hi mate i had mine for 3 years it a 2.4 manual, head was done by previous owner,i get around 25 miles to the gallon , parts are cheep, but as said go for the 3 ltr and put some proper tyres on, mine is 18 years old and every thing works Quote Link to post Share on other sites
