Well its that time of year again . But this year some big improvements have been made and hopefully lots more birds are going to be reared . I know i post this every year and it doesn't seam 2 minuets since the last one but just thought i would show a few pictures on how things are going . For the people who have followed these threads and my THL pals know it all started in my house with 2 incubators and me having sore fingers manually turning the eggs . But things are looking up we now have a big self turning incubator a Hatcher and a new pen . would love to hear of anybody else who does this sort of thing and share any photos you may have

i used to work on a pheasant farm for 3year, rearing roughly 40 thousands birds and about 20 thou partridge, (french) got some pictures some where on my phone il try get em up.

I hatch a few quail on a small scale and them red water bowl's.. that is if they are water bowl's in the circle picture..would see the death of many youngster's unless mesh or pebble's where used..till 4/5 day's old..

soo 300 notes for 100 birds aint bad that really considering the price it costs tae shoot the feckers :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

thats rearing costs

Alot of gas needed this summer or lack of summer and alot of lads lost birds due to sheds beeing blowen over with the big wind early in the summer

We are rearing 140,000 this year thats a lot of bitting ,,firsts 7000 poults went out last week .

Im sure most lads especialy the guns sitting at a peg dureing the season just how much work goes into rearing birds

They are feed trays. You dont use them for water do you Tracy?

The one on the photo are for food , we use a small water drinker with marbles in to start with then the water is on a pipe line when they get bigger

TG.....Get your automatic line in from the start and save alot of mucking about. Throw the old school marbles away and get yourself some 'chick rings'.......
