I was wondering if you lads could give me some info on gamekeeping

what skills is needed

what does the job acually involve

what is the pay like

working hours

and anything more would be helpful

1 you need to be a competant stock man to look after your birds

2 the pay is generally very poor underkeepers/beatkeepers circa £12000

3 working hours depends if you rear or not I get poults so in my case from mid july 5am - 10,30pm + lamping obviously that alters with day length 7 days a week no days off till february and approx 7 days holiday per year

 

4 there are currently hundreds of well qualified and experienced keepers looking for jobs if you didnt know the answers to any of the above questions then your going to struggle :thumbs::thumbs:

10 ,000 day olds this year, just finished bitting that was great fun!.

at the moment start 5am check birds, gas, heaters and drinkers, this carries on throughout the day, feed at about 4 ish.

i take my last walk round at about 10. on top of this i have to check all my wires and still find time to go out with the lamp.

I have a good tan though
