Lloyd90 509
Anyone have one of these dogs ? Was in this weeks Country Man's weekly. Seems like a nice lil cross. What would be the advantage/disadvantage between this and a collie/whippet x greyhound ? When/if I get a lurcher this is what I was looking at getting, just mainly a dog for rabbits Quote Link to post
keepitcovert 842
Real speed machines these mate, that can sometimes be their downfall, take a look at the type of ground you will be working, whip greys excell on golf courses playing fields ect whereas collie crosses tend to be good at general mooching and lamping ect. Theres a lot to recommend both types. Quote Link to post
stormrider8 59
I had one about 19 years back mate. He was out of one of Carl Williams whippets, used to catch rabbits for fun. Reckon if you can get the right one will be well worth it. Quote Link to post
driller killer 33
You thought of a well bred whippet if its just rabbits ya after? Quote Link to post
stroller 341
if they are brought up right they are ideal ferreting and lamping little dogs and they are generally more laid back than the collie x but you will get exponents of both types on here it depends what you want from the dog. i love them they take some beating for speed but in the field barbed wire is a b*****d especially to fast game dogs. If you have good open fields then this is the dog for you, good luck Quote Link to post
