fcuktheban 140
Slate me all you wnat but I'd love to see a dog with any part of saluki in it work. They are far and few to find and when you do find them they are pets or past their years to graft. I have no problem with a "difficult" breed just the person behind the lead that jacks it up Quote Link to post

Her dam was probably one of the best dogs I've ever owned: genuine s/h 3/3 hare dog in her youth, excellent lamp dog and top notch fox dog: worked with terriers until she was 9 years old, took everything single handed and can still put in a short day's graft out bushing or beating at 10 1/2 years old. skycat 6,173
I've put the article up in the articles section on this site. If you scroll up to the top of the screen you can see a light green bar under the photos. Click on the word articles, which is between 'store' and 'photoshop'. The articles section comes up, when you see the article click on 'Read story' to read the whole thing. and of course the same applies to the other articles in that section. Quote Link to post

What else is in her breeding skycat? and obviously all dogs are different but on average how much saluki blood does a dog need to make a noticable differance to stamina? Quote Link to post

If already 1/2x what ever breed bull, saluki, etc ........ a 1/8 will show with the base line there already there. So if i wanted the stamina+recovery of the saluki x, i would go no less than 3/8 to make that differnce Quote Link to post

Grandsire was coursing dog: percentage of Saluki unknown, but from good old lines. Grand dam Deer/Grey. Sire coursing dog again, so don't know the exact percentages of him either. Just tried and trusted lines which did the job on long ears but were also used for other stuff as well. Just tough old lurchers: I suppose at a guess my bitch would have been about, and its only a guess, around 3/8 Saluki, but impossible to say with so many breeds in there, and she was the one pup which threw the most to the Saluki. Never could understand all the obsession with percentages. If you use decent dog and bitch that are doing the job, and their parents, and their parents before them, the pups should turn out half way tidy. Just my opinion. Quote Link to post
