Ideation 8,216
One thing i always think about. . . . There are a lot of folk out there who want a pup from their dog, just because it's their dog, and it makes them happy, so they breed a full litter for just that one pup, when to be brutaly honest the dog ain't worth breeding off in any but their eyes. Now if you could have a litter of just one pup, i'd say crack on, but you cannot and the rest of them pups are out there and part of a gene pool, thats rapidly worsening. A bit part of that i think, is not peddlers breeding shit on purpose to make cash, it's well meaning folk breeding average dogs, just cos they really love their own one, and in their eyes it's top, when it is not.

Absolutely right I find it hilarious listening to folk come out with the old excuse " i wanted to keep a pup back and just sold the excess " ......so you kept 1 pup and sold the other 7 for 300 pound each......but didnt breed for money ! Very few dogs are actually worth breeding,if people set their sights higher and looked on dogs as a hobby that you dont have to get money back on,the quality of working dogs would be far higher in general.

Pointless breeding then in my opinion. Either you have the best dog in the world,or you lack ambition......in these times theres no reason to breed dogs if your not improving them, just my opinion like.
