no offence james but the next time i see you your a fcukin dead man ,why would a lad lie and say a dog is dead .Did you get a kick out of that cause i certainly didnt ye prick

My personal thoughts are that I don't agree with the selling on of adult/nearly adult dogs. The way I look at it is when you part with your hard earned for a pup, you are paying for a blank canvas of

i aint bothered what people breed there litters for its none of my business and dont effect me.   i buy in what i need when i need it. but having said that my last pup was gifted to me.

I have a bitch now in the kennel which we bought for using on our shoot through my business. She has had 2 litters 4 years apart.....1st litter of 9.... 3 stayed in the family, 1 went for Stud fee and 4 went to my mates that i never took any money for. and the last 1 went to a friend of my mums for £100.

Here second litter she had 3.....i kept 2 this time and i gave the other 1 away.......

I have no problem with people selling dogs or excess pups. I don't like people that buy dogs only to sell them or people that breed constant litters for cash. Buying a dog to sell on is actually a criminal offence as you are required to have a pet shop license.

why not if both parents work i have to pay for my stock an it costs to rear pups properley so why not ? if people want good working stuff reared right expect to pay at least 150 or get stuff cheaper that may not be as good else were an i havent sold many pups ive had 4 litters in over 12 year

Never sold a full grown dog but I have sold surplus pups. I have only bred three litters in my puff and in total about 6 pups over the years. Nothing wrong with selling surplus pups it's the regular or young dog breeders that scunner me....

You want to buy a pup dotty :whistling: :whistling:

I don't give a shit what people do with their own property so long as they're honest about what they're selling.

If someone chooses to sell a dog for £500 that's up to them, I certainly wouldn't be buying a dog for that much but it's none of my business what someone else sells a dog for.

It's all very well saying that, and i agree in principle, but what happens if you are not lucky enough to have a close group of mates, breeding their dogs, and giving you a pup, what are you meant to do? People always go on about how the best dogs are gifted etc, and only bred to be passed around friends, and never sold, well that makes you kind of f****d if you are new to the game, don't know others in the game etc.

Many folk take the piss, breeding too much, without putting thought in etc, and that's a problem, but if you are producing decent pups, out of decent dogs, then i don't think getting a couple of hundred quid off someone for that pup is a great crime, to raise a little well is expensive, and by selling that pup to a lad, who didnt have a group of friends 'in the know' ( ), you may be doing him the biggest favor ever. . . . . .

You can say, well, why not just give it to the stranger for free?????? Well, we all know how that can end!

i have stated in the origonal post that i have bought in dogs.......

i have not always been around the people i am now, so i have had to buy in dogs, the 2 currect lurchers i have here where both bought in, due to the fact i wanted a specific type an none a my mates bred that type.........

but does that gee me the right to sell the pups on, if i breed?????

after all i payed for my dogs, an have spent a load a money on there upbringing........

fact is we see pups for sale everyday, even at low prices, any most people say, its to cover the cost a rearing the pups....

way i see it, if i couldnae afford to raise a litterr, i wouldnt do it, i would never breed them an then try an make me money back

lets be brutally honest, a litter of pups costs a small fortune to raise,(if done right)

but there again, if ye dont breed youd have to buy in, so youd be out of pocket anyways :icon_eek:

like i said at start, not a dig at anybody whatsoever, it just seems these days every 2nd guy on here gifts his dogs away, yet it always seems to be pups for sale, instead a pups free to good working homes :whistling:

out of my litter there is 1 surplus pup, im keeping 2 of his siblings, 2 have gone already, 1 is reserved (not a penny changing hands here)

tbh i havent decided what to do with the pup, might sell him, might keep him, might gift him if the right person knocks at the door

its a hard decision to make?
