wirral countryman 2,110
more I really like the look of that lurcher!! Looks like he could fill a freezer or two. JD,that lurcher was a very capable animal and could jump anything, his name was "KALE",stood 28"tts and caught the full spectrum of game,he was still catching regular to the age of 12yrs,he earned his retirement and lived till he was 16yrs,he was saluki/greyhound but with a great temperament, very biddable and once he had hold it was all over,he was bred in liverpool,I only wish I'd took some pups off him but back in the day good dogs were 2 a penny,I had a bitch about the same time that was a better hare dog but for larger game he took some beating,I'd have another like him in the morning if there was anything being bred in that class nowadays,I've got a lot better pics of him somewhere and if I find them I'll put some up,atb,WM 2 Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
JD,I started looking tonight, there's only a few I can put up but it did get me thinking about some of his unique talents,he used to throw a lot of the foxes he caught up in the air and pin them when they hit the floor, seen him throw a few into brambles and watched them slip away, when coursing hare's single handed as a young dog he would jump clean over hedges and catch them on the other side, never broke stride, never broke a toe or had any serious injuries, there's a couple more pics of a few lads I met at a show in cornwall that you may like,a saluki,a first cross bitch that had her pups that night and a lad from essex with his dog, atb,WM Quote Link to post
