wedge2409 98
hi tony,i have a harris swivel bipod.the swivel bit is a bit misleading ,you can tilt the gun to the left our right, thats all. Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Tony. The Harris Bipods are nice, but which ever one you buy, it would be very worth your while considering a swiveling head type Swivel head will tilt from left to right, making for a comfortable and level shot. 9/13 inch is a nice size, gets you over some of the longish grass, also with the adjustable legs, you can adjust to level the rifle on some pretty rough or uneven ground. Good luck with your choices. Bill. Quote Link to post
Rich91 1
Hi Tony, SWIVEL ALL THE WAY! I cannot recommend to get the swivel version enough, the first trip out in the field with my bipod I used the swivel feature. I picked up a Harris Bipod SLM 9-13" off the bay for £74 posted. Take a look here: http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/171712-deben-bipod/ And here: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/208375-genuine-harris-bipod/page__p__2119921__hl__%2Bharris+%2Bbipod__fromsearch__1#entry2119921 Good luck, Rich. If you use one of those just make sure you pad the bit which goes round the barrel or it might scratch the stock, thinking about it we might have one kicking about somewhere, would only want postage for it so if you wanna give it a try pm me your address.... Darryl Hi Darryl. Cant beat them for price thats for sure Im in the market for another Bipod, and had a look at the link you put up. Does not mention swivel head After shooting with both types, I would never shoot off a fixed head Bipod again Was yours a swivel mate? ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
No mate.... To be honest I've never used a swivel bipod and never really needed to so I don't know any different.. I zero off the bipod then when hunting most of my shots are kneeling or standing as I don't do a lot of static, I use it for the odd longer shot for extra stability but those are rare.... Darryl Hi Buddy. Theres the difference mate, if your standing, kneeling, most of the time, then maybe you wouldnt reep the beniffits of the swivel head as much, or need it. Most of mine is in the prone static position, so I really notice the difference. Give one a go one day if you can Darryl, much nicer control of the rifle ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post
