skycat 6,174
Some bitches don't change at all: others definitely do change. It is not unusual for a bitch to go off her food for the first 3 r 4 weeks (the canine equivalent of morning sickness due to the changing hormone levels). Some bitches are a bit quieter throughout their pregnancy, others hunt like demons and eat everything they can get hold of: all depends on the individual. As long as she is fine in herself, drinking, eating, peeing and crapping normally then she's probably fine. Keep exercising her normally until she starts to look big, and don't worry: worry can transmit to the bitch and she needs you as calm and normal as possible! Forgot to add: some bitches refuse to eat their normal food as well: I had one bitch who would only eat whole carcases: chickens and rabbits, throughout her pregnancy, fur, feathers and all. She whelped easily, pups were all good and after the birth she went back to eating all sorts of different foods. Nature knows best in most cases. Try not to feed her too much stodgy carbohydratey foods: meat and bone is best, and don't increase the food until the last couple of weeks of pregnancy: fat bitches don't whelp as easily as leaner bitches.
