Caprelous 217
Just purchased a Rocky Real Tree Mountain Jacket in rip stop from Uttings next day delivery, took delivery of it this morning its in all round green RealTree, they claim its 100% waterproof but having just looked at the guarantee this is only valid for 6 months only. Nowhere in the selling information on the internet did they say the guarantee was limited to 6 months. Has anyone else purchased one and if so how is it shaping up . Seems exceptionally light and needs undergarments to retain the heat but thats one of the reasons I chose it. Regards Caprelous 1 Quote Link to post

Regards Caprelous I might be wrong, but,I think that any item sold has an automatic 12 month guarantee, and that means that it has to be fit for purpose, that is your statutory rights....I think. Magdon 7
Nowhere in the selling information on the internet did they say the guarantee was limited to 6 months. If you are unhappy with the product you have the right to return it. As long as it is unused and in the original packaging. The 3 Sales of Good and Services Acts that are applicable in the UK do provide the consumer with a number of protections. The right to return distance purchased good being just one and an immediate 12 month guarantee period being another. This is however subject to a fair usage condition. That the retailers have all failed to mention in any of the advertising the fact that the manufacturer only guarantees their product to be 100% water proof for a period of 6 months, is a mute point, in regards to your consumer rights should the jacket start to leak 6 months and a day from date of purchase. At only £89 practical expectations wouldn't be much higher from a polyester nylon fabric. But it does provide you with sufficient grounds to demand a full refund should you choose to return the goods unused. Personally I'd stick it back in the bag and send it back, and then spend a 1/3 of the returned money on one of the German mil-surplus gortex flectain smocks. They work for me. I have 2 and rotate them when they get too shitty and need to be hosed off and left to air dry. Quote Link to post
