Country Joe 1,411
Hi, Like Dog food, there are a few out there, I plan only to feed dry in hot Weather, and when I am away for a couple of days, any idea what is best dry feed? or do they all have the same ingredients? Quote Link to post
matt_ferret 2
Far as i understand it look for one with min 30% meat protein and around 20% fat. I don't use a dried for my ferrets, but I reckon James Wellbeloved Ferret to be pretty good in substitute of a natural diet. Edited June 29, 2011 by matt_ferret 1 Quote Link to post
oohmydog 82
Hi CJ used james Wellbeloved since it came out never had any problems ,its getting expensive Quote Link to post
lksopener 105
Hi Guys, JWB is fine as is Alpha ferret feast. For the best price on JWB go here: http://www.feedem.co.uk/small-animal-c129/ferret-food-c147/adult-c149/james-wellbeloved-complete-ferret-food-20kg-p6834 With Post it's about £28 per sack. Alpha is also £13.99 per sack for 10kg plus post. It will last ages and have all the right nutritional elements for the ferrets, dog food may seem cheaper but it doesn't quite have the same protein content. Would you feed cat food to a dog? Same sort of priniciple. Liam Quote Link to post
lksopener 105
@ Ooohhmydog see my link its well cheap! They charge £50 a sack for 20kg in my local pet stores, robbing barstewards! It only takes a couple of days to come aswell. Liam Quote Link to post

canis lupus 1
we are in a situation where we are having to change with Vitalin going bust. JWB is an ok feed its Turkey and not chicken though, but find they crap a hugh amount, and can stain the teeth, nt to much of a probelm if they have alot of meat as well.Price is way to high as well. Chudley is terrible I never had a normal poo with it always seedy. Thinking of using seletive (use to be Frankie ferret) a little exspencive but seems to be liked. at the end of the day it what your ferrets and pocket can cope with. Quote Link to post
lksopener 105
Canis lupis see link above jwb is not expensive. Quote Link to post
