COMPO 54
AS ABOVE YOU NEED A FIREARMS CERTIFICATE AND NEED A SHOTGUN LISTED ON THE FAC Quote Link to post

RicW 67
Yeah, they must be on your ticket. They can only be used for specific purposes, mainly close-range deer, so telling your FEO you want to blow your neighbour's door hinges out may not go down too well. CharlieT 32
AS ABOVE YOU NEED A FIREARMS CERTIFICATE AND NEED A SHOTGUN LISTED ON THE FAC You do not need a fac shotgun. Only the slugs need to be on fac and you can use them in your standard, sgc, shotgun. Quote Link to post

I am also under the same impression as COMPO that the shotgun needs to be on FAC also as you cannot fire them through a S.2 Shotgun. I'll try and find the legislation Quote Link to post
tegater 789
You can fire them through any magnum rated shotgun, but the slug must be specified on s1 ticket. Quote Link to post
tegater 789
Also it is highly recommended true cylinder choke, for safety and accuracy reasons. Quote Link to post
CharlieT 32
I have slugs on ticket for deer for use with my S2, non fac, shotgun. They group best through 1/2 choke in my gun. Cylinder gives the poorest grouping. Quote Link to post
Terryorr 27
All interesting reading lads, Thanks. Northern Ireland Firearms Certificate Holders are told on their F A Cs A minimum of 5 pellets must be used in any shotgun cartridge, therefore slugs are ILLEGAL here. Quote Link to post
heymmayo 0
Also recently made illegal in Republic of Ireland Quote Link to post
