Guest Ditch_Shitter
Much as we do today, mate. Only less emphasis on Black terriers, perhaps? The Lurker flavour of that period was more the big, iron coloured rough coats they called " Deerhound X ". Bull X's were hardly mentioned. The Exchange & Mart was incredibly popular. Seemed to me more deer was getting knocked over in those days than ever before or since. Apart from that? Only that it all went round by word of mouth and no one had digital cameras so ye listened to a man and watched him and knew that way if he was full of shit or not. But I never once heard a guy demand pictures. Half of it was hardly the sort of thing ye'd want to show Boots anyway! Oh; And we never called ourselves " Hunters ". Least next to no one I ever knew did. We were " Ferreters ". " Went after foxes. " " Had Lurkers and coursed ..... ". But 'Hunters' tended to wear red jackets and ride horses in those days. Don't ye remember then?

That was when i was in the UK, living in the wonderfull countryside of Northampton, ferreting, fecking about with said air rifle and fishing, all inocent and back in the early 's, where nowt matterd and you got a telling off from your local bobby for poaching the odd bunnys ect. Good old days ha. Frank.
Irish Lurcher 1,013
Dublin in the late 70/80s was all about cars. No it was about getting girls into the cars, and asking our mates what rooms their sister sleeps in, dirty little fuckers when I come to think of it, now we are older and nowth has changed. jasper65 6
Oh mate can't you look back at it with a smile on your face , I don't know about you lads but I wouldn't swap my childhood for the young lads these days. I loved my old Mercury S Frank , I remember when it was first being tested in Airgun World by a guy called Geoffrey Boxall and then a field test with another guy called Rod Lynton, I fell in love with it as it was spitting out .177 Eley wasps on the test at a average 875fps ! I remember jacking in a BSA Super Meteor, a BSA Standard Mercury and all my savings for this lovelly Mercury S, I then saved up spent out on a Tasco 2.75 x 40 scope and a Galloway silencer and I was happy as larry picking off the local Squirrel and pigeon population . I looked after this gun like it was wrapped in cotton wool! but as I got older I did a silly thing, I met a girl I liked alot and it was her birthday coming up! I was desperate for the cash so I sold the lot for £30 to the local gunshop to buy her a watch , a short time later she blew me out . I then moved onto a Airsporter S but couldn't hit em Like I could with the Mercury.... You're right Irish Lucher, getting a car meant we could pull and shag to our hearts content, my furry passenger seat cover in my MK1 Escort took a hammering, and my furry dice always came in handy to mop up afterwards
