ferret toilet help

Recommended Posts

i have 2 six week old ferrets, the problem is how do i stop the craping in the bed compartment, there is a separate bit at the other en of there hutch for doing there mess, i keep on cleaning the sleeping quarters out and then they crap in in it again, they go to the other end aswell, any way i can stop them from doing this, or will they grow out of it as they get older

One of mine used to do that. I put in a litter tray and every time they went I moved it into the litter tray and really cleaned the original area so it wouldn't smell, after a couple of days of doing this they got the message and moved over to using the litter tray. Good luck!

Don`t clean it all out of the hutch,, move some shit to the area you`d prefer them to crap in,, that sometimes helps them associate certain areas with shitting!

Mine used to shit in a corner of the run so I built a makeshift litter tray and put shavings in it. Then the little buggers started shitting somewhere else. I just scooped the shit into the litter tray and they got the idea straight away.
