TEXICAN 10
Im new to the terriers, I raised bulldogs for many years. I was wondering what is the best way to learn the different lines and pedigrees of these little dogs? Im not a big pedigree man but I would love to study all the different lines and famous dogs and their pedigrees. I am completely lost when someone begins to explain how a dog is bred or they mention a breeders name. Are there any pedigree databases or magazines/ books that will help me learn more of the breeds history? I have a nice young pup and I know he originated from Nuttall lines but I would like to go further back into his pedigree. Feel free to pm me to keep it private. Thanks, YFIS, the "TEXICAN". TEXICAN 10
Hey thanks blaze. Thats all I am looking for is info to learn more about the breed in general. Papers really mean nothing to me, they just give you a little idea of what you have. I am blind to the breed if you throw a famous dogs name or breeders name out, there is about a 90% chance I will have no clue as to what you are talking about. Busterdog where are you located? Guest busterdog
I'm located in Staffordshire, what i meen by i live here is England, theres been wiser men than me trying to put a diffinitive answer on the question you've asked for as long as i can remember and no ones done it yet. I personaly think that most types or lines call them what you may evolve at such a slow pace with each generation or two being claimed by one chap or another that you'll never put a handle on the begining or the end. Theres plenty of books out there and i'm sure someone will put a list up for you but i've read a hell of a lot and still can't fathom it out, we can't even decide whether they're fells or patterdales lol.
