obi2 239
The most annoying part is from my experience gun men look down there nose at the lurcher men! We"re poaching b******s to them but the majority of the ones I kno have short memories as they we"re out with us and the dogs and out poaching with there air rifles before they got there fire arms. It's as soon as that certificate comes through the door and they get there needed permission then we are the bad guys in there eyes. I must add not all shooting guys just the many in my experience! Ideation 8,216
And thats just it...... they like doing that and thats there choice. Would you critise someone who played chess, after all its just a few pieces moved about a board mate..... Right al finish with this as its going nowhere and people are stuck in there ways......if you dont lke another mans sport in the hunting world then dont make a comment on it, simple! You can hate it all you like but bringing it down and causing a bigger divide between supposedly hunting minded folk is bollocks in my eyes........ Stuck in their ways. . . . . pot . . . . . kettle. . . . . black. I didn't say i totally hated shooting mate, you just seem to assume that and repeat your point over and over about "disrespecting other peoples sport". I DO NOT HATE SHOOTING. As my old mam said, it's not what you do, it's how you do it. And i'm my eyes, just because we all kill wild animals in a variety of ways, does not make us bonded in some sacred pact, just because someone 'hunts' does not make me want to be associated with them. Especially most of the folk with running dogs Anyway, chiiiiiiiiill out winston Quote Link to post

I know you dont hate shooting, jesus, and i dont expect you to mingle with all different walks of the countryside but why talk down someone elses sport just because you dont find it interesting or maybe even a style of hunting? You get me now..... I'm not saying we are in a 'sacred pact' either mate but if we were a little closer in our chosen style of sport then maybe, just maybe there might not be a ban in this country........so what i'm saying there is 'ITS YOUR FAULT IDEATION THERES A BAN!!!"..... Now wheres that bottle of sauce.......... Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
It's not the sport i'm talking down mate, i.e the shooting of foxes, it's just the way that some folk approach / carry out that sport, just like i could give you a long list of certain 'ways' that some people with dogs conduct themselves, that i don't agree with, that's my opinion, and i'm entitled to it. I just feel as respectful country folk who maybe the decent among us should be distancing ourselves from the idiots etc, cos i'm pretty annoyed when, just because i hunt, i'm lumped in with someone i think is a muppet! It;s maybe just that round here those who do most of the shooting i object to, live in a town somewhere and just come out to the countryside to blast some shit. I gaurentee that they don't have a scooby how many foxes are around etc etc etc. On the estate, we KNOW where there are a couple of vixens with litters . . . .. that at the moment are free to stay and grow up a bit. As for "if we were closer. . . . .no ban" thats total arse, what caused the ban was a combination of retarded idiots with fecking cameras and facebook etc playing straight into lacs etc hands, some kind of strange class war, and the governments need to divert the liberal lefties away from some other shit they were doing. And NAE FECKER is getting the Ketchup fox! Quote Link to post

blan89 159
i dont find shooting a sport a sport is wear u compete against something.how can a fox compete with ye the poor bugger has no chace ye can take them out from 250 yards without them having a clue yer there.fair enough when ye have 2 controll them on pheasent beats.a lot of lads in the shooting game just go out for numbers given fine healty fit foxs no chance. I agree with you mate, its not sport,it doesnt help maintain a healthy population either, but if theres pheasants, livestock etc that needs looking after and the land owner dont trust/want (or if he gets slipped a few squids) anyone with a dog coming and doing it the right way they still need taking care of. vld 62
wierd how this debate has devided people an there views,i have an air rifle that i will use on the odd rat or corvid but i am no shooter, prefer to see dogs in action, even if i catch a rat in a live trap its not 100% dead yet,it gets a 5 second head start from the middle of a small field an then the terrier is loosed,ok only 1 has ever made it to the hedge but thats a rat that deserved it.not bothered if people choose to shoot foxes but it really grips my shit when i hear of hares being shot....does anyone else feel like this,i have bundles of respect for this animal that it upsets me to think of ending one with a bullet, such a waste in my opinion . derry boy 2
I have to add the fact that a lot of people ( NOT ALL ) do not necessarily choose to hunt with dogs as apposed to guns as the UK guns laws are pretty stringent and not everyone who wishes to hunt by means of gun can do so. Do you disagree with deer stalking/ driven shooting or rough shooting in general. Are these not sporting types of hunting? Maybe I've been a crazed murdererkilling innocent animals recklessly for all these years. Or what about big game hunting have they trained a dog to catch buffalo yet? There is more to hunting than foxes? Quote Link to post

MINNIE 4
the riflemen ive seen are all very materialistic, say if one buys a pair of wellies 150 quid his mate has got to have a pair for 200 quid. if one buys a big scope his mate has to buy a bigger better one , everythings about bragging rights including the number of foxes theyve killed thats how they work. bunch of fuxkin arxeholes. 1 Quote Link to post
bantheban 0
I find both methods work in the right environment as I look After a pheasant shoot the only garanteed way is rifle but I also have other ground I run my dogs on are be honist dogs are more sporting and it's a 50/50 battle but rifles are more efficient for game shoots and every one nos efficiency is what u need to run any business so I feel we need to all stick together in the country side to have any chance of having the law over turned please peeps stop getting at each other and angle the aggression at the antis not each other Quote Link to post
obi2 239
What is trying to be said is there is no sport in the shooters who drive around shooting vast numbers of foxes in a season without leaving the comfort of the veichle. Noone can say shooters in general aren't hunters. The person who knows more than any fieldsports enthusiast about fieldcraft and hunting skills in my opinion would be the deer stalker! I take my hat of to the decoyer who spends the time working out flight paths, setting out the perfect formation and perfecting his hide. The rough shooter being ever alert who works along side his spaniel or other breed to flush game to him that he has second to react to. There are plenty of skills needed for shooting sports and I am not decrying it at all. But it seems round about here they all try to out do each other with there numbers and the quicker they shoot them out the jeep it's on to the next park down the road for a shine. You won't get anywhere near the numbers shooters get but with a lurcher the strongest quickest cleverest and fittest survive making for better healthier offspring and in return giving us even better sport and more excitement. And just to add if you are a fox shooter who spends the time learning about your quarry and who isn't afraid to go out walking in the dark across muddy parks searching for it then I have no problems with that.
