IMO YOU CAN ONLY BE A MARKSMAN OR A DOGMAN AND NOT BOTH. Anyone who claims to enjoy both equally is full of cock and bull. If you have a couple of descent lurchers you'll want to be testing them on the lamp regular and i know it breaks my heart to see the fox shot by these absolute morons with these rifles. The popularity of these rifles has got to beyond a joke now and lads are driving through places they have absolutely no right to be picking of foxes at ease. The dogman marksman row will always continue. Wish them no luck whatsoever and will be more than happy to meet them on the country roads some night in the future

It’s true what they say, that a little knowledge can be dangerous, the only reason you know I hold a rifle is because I told you, so how can you make assumption that I shoot during the summer, when was the last time I shot a gun??, your reply to this interesting thread leaves a lot to be desired, most unintelligent I would say at the very least.

And why not take both?....if the shots misplaced theres nothing wrong with having a dog to retrive wounded vermin.......pre ban, you may not have been able to take a safe shot, so then the dog would have come into play.

Where to start.. this has degenerated into a slagging match tween lurcher boys and shooters,,(nothing new there then)

In my view,, calling someone a wanker cause you don`t like there choice of sport is a bit shit,,and kinda shows you up to be ignorant really.. The bottom line is there are wankers in the dog world,,and wankers in the shooting world,,

My view is ,,,I`ve taken more foxes with dogs, than with the rifle,, but I use what I think fit, Some places won`t have a dog near it,,so what do you do,,Leave the foxes cause dogmen say shootings not sport ??? bollocks I think you`ll agree,,

 

I love running dogs,, or digging ,, but circumstances dictate that I cant do that as much as I`d like just now,, so are people suggesting I leave the foxes alone,, ???? try telling that to the permission owners,, see how long you last,, If they need to be controlled they have to get done,, simples,,

 

Now this leads me on to one of my main points, IF THEY NEED TO BE CONTROLLED !!!!![/b]

 

What I hate,,and I`ve seen a big rise in this , is foxes being lamped by the dozen for no reason other than ,lamping foxes is the newest "sport", craze whatever,, the press are as much to blame for this as anyone, but this craze will only harm the countryside,,and all our sport!!

 

Now before some go off the deep end,, I KNOW! some folk have to shoot big numbers! they need to and they do,, job done,, but there is a growing band of muppets,, driving around in L200`s with a big fuckoff lamp,, and the latest Zeiss glass on the custom built .223,, just shooting foxes for the sake of it,, THIS IS NOT PEST CONTROL!! and it`s barely a sport!!!! to me its a f****n carnage,,and it harms us all,

 

And the dog blokes don`t get off too easy either,, but TBH I think we all know the type of "Lurcher Men" that harm this sport,,,,,
