Didn't see the rest of the racing but all of us from our team and the two tv crew really enjoyed the Master Mc Grath. Fantastic dogs and good sportmanship well done to John , Rose and Shane Lee - whose Rosscrea Club takes over running the racing at the Irish Game & Country Fair at Birr Castle on the 27th & 28th August. If anyone missed out on racing due to problems with the two lures PM me or email me to irishgamefair@btinternet.com.

Plans are already in place for the next Master McGrath Challenge and the first qualifying heat over the new distance of 200 yards takes place at the Irish Game & Country Fair at Birr Castle. Any club wanting to host qualifiers this year or next year before the final at Shanes Castle 2012 please contact me on irishgamefair@btinternet.com

I agree that the three top dogs looked well - including the lurcher who I saw and admired for its good hard condition at the Mourne show. The terrier was very smart and the whippet too looked good.

I had full confidence in thee three judges - I didn't know the terrier judge. I have known Kieran for a couple of years and I am impressed with him as a level headed fair minded guy and I have known and respected Janet as a good judge for many years. While it is good to bring in judges from outside Ireland I think it is insulting to local judges to say they can't judge fairly because they know people.

I judge locally and frienmds know they get the same treatment as everyone else.
